Contest Theme Details

It seems that a lot of our members are confused about what exactly fits in within the theme 'New Beginnings', we have set for the contest. So I thought I'd clear that up while there's still time. The contest closing date is coming up fast after all. So here goes.

The most important thing to remember is that almost anything could be made to fit into the theme, if you get a little creative.

For the simplest example let me take photo or painting of a sunrise. It fits the theme perfectly since it's the beginning of a new day. But let's get creative with the theme shall we. Undertaking a new journey, shall we say, would fit in nicely too and a picture of someone with a backback on a lonely road would immediately cry out 'New Beginning' for us. Rainfall after a period of drought, something that gives you hope for the future, the start of a race or almost anything really.

Even, for example (and here we have to really push the limits and get creative with it) let's say a person on DA who has only been uploading photos he had shot from his trusty camera all this time. Until now. To fit in with the theme he decides to put down his camera for a while and try his hand at traditional painting. That's a new beginning too and will fit in perfectly with our theme. It's a new beginning for him after all. See how easy it all is?

As long as you get creative I think you can force just about anything to fit into our theme. The key is to be creative and find what a new beginning means to you!

This is where I rummage through some of Care-Club member's galleries and pick one from each gallery to feature here. The one I pick is the one that stood out most for me from among the deviant's gallery based on my taste. New Selections</b>
This is another new feature we have introducing. We check out the latest submissions on DA and select some deviations that stand out as we go through it and put them in our Journal. The only strict rule we follow is that the deviant whose deviation we display here should have less than 10,000 pageviews. That's all.

Current Contest

Well, this isn't the most original theme for a contest but I think it's appropriate and very easy one to participate in. The theme for the new contest is "New Beginnings"; which I think is appropriate since it's the first month of the year. Check below for rules and other relevant stuff.

Contest Theme:
As stated earlier the theme of the contest is “New Beginnings” and I think it’s pretty straight forward and self-explanatory. You are free to use whatever medium you wish to work on the entry, including poetry and literature.

Rules:

ONLY Members of Care-Club can participate in the contest

The entry has to be a completely new deviation made SPECIFICALLY for the contest and it should not be entered into any other contest being conducted in DA until our contest is over.
Contest entries should not be submitted to the Care-Club gallery.

Mature content, to some extent, is acceptable but no full frontal nudity, blood or gore. The Club Contest Admin reserves the right to decide whether the deviation meets the specifications.

Only 1 submission per deviant will be entered into the contest but you are free to submit up to three deviations for our consideration. In such cases the Contests Admin will decide which one is best among the submissions sent in by the deviant and enter it into the contest. By submitting more than one entry you are giving permission to the Gallery Admin to choose.

Any type of art is acceptable.

The description of the deviation in YOUR gallery should include the following text: "This is my entry for Care-Club ‘New Beginnings’ contest."
